Getting started

Getting started with Agreement Builder

  • When answering the questions that follow, keep in mind the best interests of your children. You might not have fully formed answers to every question at this stage, that’s okay.
  • The process of answering the questions in each agreement builder should help you consider what outcomes are best for your children and both of you. They can form a useful starting point when discussing your situation with your ex-partner or a legal representative such as a solicitor.

The outcomes you can expect with regards to money during and after separation or divorce depend on a number of aspects and are unique to every relationship. Check the information in the Finances topic to understand your position and rights. Taking this information into account, you will then want to think about what outcomes you’d like to see in the short and long term with respect to your financial situation.
